Lent

Image from the Movie Passion of the Christ

The Lord died on the cross today, ridiculed, stoned and spitted. Christians of all ages all over the world celebrate this day. Reenacted the events, prayed, fasted and sacrificed little things.
While standing during last Palm Sunday’s homily, with the priest reading the passion of Christ I just can’t help thinking what if this was happening now? Will we have acted more differently?  I kept on thinking, if someone presented Himself as the messiah NOW, will he be condemned? Accepted? Sued? Followed? Tested? We all know there are people out there claiming to be God, God’s messenger or the Virgin Mary’s herself. They have followers; usually a small one that lives there lives revolving that person, more like the apostles. When they are featured on the news, people usually conclude right away that it’s a cult, and that its fraud. What if it was really God calling on us, testing us? How would we know? And will I believe it? Questions that will be left unanswered until the bridge is crossed
