My Leap of Faith

I am no daredevile, I cowered on Dahilayan’s long zip and my knees shake when I walk on hanging bridges of any built but I like me some adrenaline rush from time to time. When we went to Camotes, I thought we were just staying at the resort with the guys just getting drunk. Luckily, my team mate booked us a tour. The best part of it was the Leap of Faith. I have never jumped off a cliff before. The riskiest I’ve done so far was dive (as in dive on a proper diving board, and I call it risky) at Rock Spring’s 12ft pool. I just had to say that so you can see the bigger picture. This cliff that we are talking about is 18-freaking feet and you drop off into god-knows-how-deep sea.
We had no guide so we didn’t know the exact specifications. Well you could say, that escalated quickly! I usually chicken out on this kind of things but I kept on saying, I may not be able to come back here, I may not have any other chance to do it, my sister Rhea did it. The guys assured me that they are going to rescue me should I not float back to the surface (I always do this, ask someone to rescue me even if I'm just going to slide on a swimming pool). So I had 3 guys waiting to rescue me, a video running to document my boldness and encouraging cheers. I ran for momentum and at the edge, I chickened out and did that stupid flapping thing. Two more peeps jumped in and I was still up on the platform.

Here's Spike giving me tips on how not to hurt my self.
As they say, three is a charm. After some pep talk with Spike and Doy, I summoned all courage and leaped to infinity and beyond!
It was a loooong drop– more like aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-pause-breath-aaaaaaaaaaaaa-splash. That long. I'm sure there's a video of this somewhere.
I was surprised because I didn’t drank any water, no water in my nose and shoot straight back up to the surface and swam without any help. No struggle whatsoever. I wanted more! It was unbelievable! Unfortunately, the heat got the best of us and the darned ladder up kept the boys from jumping off again. They were more scared of the ladder than of the jump.

  6. I'm so proud of you, Sis. It was one of the best things I did in Camotes, too. Though I only jumped because Mama jumped ahead of me and I refused to be the chicken. My brother actually taunted me to stay put since my life is boring anyway, the idiot. hahaha...We should do this with Dee, Amy and Arjhay sometime, ala-Sisterhood of Travelling Pants. :D Miss you.
