Dahilayan Adventure

Remember when I made my Leap of Faith, I mentioned something about Dahilayan? This is happened a few years back but I deemed this adventure blogworthy so here I am writing about it.
Dahilayan Adventure Park is home to Asia's Longest Dual Cable Zipline. It boasts two whooping 840M long with a 100-meter drop finale zipline!
Pine trees are abundant there, making a very very Baguio-ish atmosphere.
It took me a while to get there since they opened way after I was already based here in Cebu. This is definitely one adventure you have to partake when you come by the area. The Adventure Park is located in Brgy Dahilayan, Bukidnon. Here's a map on how to get there from Cagayan de Oro.
It's a little way off so it took a lot of planning and persuading my Uncle to drive me there. Several trips back to CDO, my Uncle still didn't budged so I enlisted the participation of my best friends. They came to my rescue and made this a dream come true. I was so sure I will have loads of fun. They've all been here before so only me and my sister are the first timers. Me and the boyfriend went for the zip. All the zipline rides costs Php600 if you get the package.
The park has 3 ziplines, One 350M and another 150M. This is good for the kids and for side along apparition(LOL! I cant help it, I just had to singit it), kidding aside, its when an adult and a kid zips together. For me, this was the warm up part. You go through the 350M first.   The view was breathtaking. You are actually on top of the pine trees and you see green all around you. The pace was just perfect really! Sorry for the blurry shots, these are actually just screen caps from a video. I don't know if you can see that smile I had there, I was having a blast.
The 150M zip was a breeze to build your confidence and appetite for the long zip. And here I wanted more!
After that, you have to walk uphill back to the station where a vehicle will take you to the launch station of the real deal. The 840-freakin-meters of zipping through the air of Bukidnon's lush greenlands. The launch station is on a tower that is so freakin high my knees started to buckle just stepping in. You can see whats below it because the floor wasnt solid metal, it was see-through-the-possible-cause-of-your-death floor and my fear of heights does not really make the situation less scary.
See what I meant about the floor?

When they whisked me away to put all the gears on me and I see the very giddy boyfriend being harnessed on the other side, I summoned some courage not to run on the spot. By the time they pushed me at the edge of the platform to haul me for the superman position, I was already screaming "STOP", "LET ME GO!", "DON'T KUYA, DON'T!!!". It actually sounded like they were trying to kill me. (T.T) It was really scary, more so that you cant actually see the other end of the line.

They threw me into the air with my eyes shut tight and my knees uncontrollably shaking.
The first 30 seconds of the ride was spent chastising my self over coming this long only to close my eyes. I braved a sneak peak and saw the boyfriend having a grand time, shouting his lungs out.
I on the other hand was screaming and shouting in terror. I was really scared I'd get stuck somewhere in the middle and wont budge anymore. I picture a rescue mission that will require choppers and some action star-worthy scenes. Only after I got past the middle that I started to relax and enjoyed the view and stopped screaming. At the landing station, the park has an official photographer armed with a big ass camera. I had to smile and act like I was just eating cake. Pfft. I actually had fun but I dont think Im for a zip THAT long and that high, but maybe I'd do it again.

Dahilayan Adventure Park is now so well developed, you'd think you're in Tagaytay. They have the Forest Park where you can host picnics under the pine trees. They have fun animal statues, really cute playground perfect for pictures and a pond-full of fishes eager to be fed. They also have a restaurant there if you haven't got time to prepare baon. The price wasn't too bad as well. When we were there they had strawberries for sale.

The last time we were there they barely just opened The Pine Grove Lodge which means you don't have to go home when the park closes, you can just stay there! The park also offers other rides like ATV, Zorb and Ropes Course. They recently just added The Dropzone - more like bungee jumping 120-feet and the Flying Lizard - its like zipping through the air while you pedal atop trees. I think this park is still an on going development and I wont be shocked to see many more additions. It's really a sight to see. Id come back there if only for the forest park. When will you visit?

  1. Sis, their rope course reminds me of Rainforest Park's and we all know how that turned out. Hahaha...I still want to try it though. :D Raffy has never been there and I doubt he'd go through the longest zipline. He's much more scared of heights than I am. He thinks he'll have a heart attack if he did. I've done it like 3 times already and I still feel like Peter Pan (note the Peter Pan and not Tinkerbell, haha) when I do it.
